  • Load/unload Novapoint modules, which are installed and licensed.
  • Reserve/release license for Novapoint modules if working on network license.
  • Enabling license borrowing when working with network floating licenses.
  • To filter out the modules, which are not of use at this moment.

Several modules can be run at the same time.

Run the function form the following locations:

MOUS_ICO Toolbar: Load Module Load Module

MOUS_ICO Menu: Novapoint > Load Module…

KEYB_ICO Command Line: Not available from the command line

The dialog box 'Novapoint Module Loader' will pop up.

Various action related to this dialog box can be carried out in any of the following way:

  1. Using the buttons.
  2. Using the shortcut key as shown on the shortcut menu.
  3. Using the shortcut menu and selecting the option.

Multiple modules can be selected from the list by holding the 'Shift' or 'Ctrl' keys while selecting with mouse or arrow keys. The selected modules will be highlighted as shown in the above dialog box.

Load/Unload

Novapoint modules can be loaded/unloaded by selecting the modules and using the respective button.

  • Confirm the action using the button 'Apply'.

Load menu only

Use this option to reserve license of Novapoint modules.

  • This option is the preferable mode for network floating licenses.
  • This option enables a 'license on demand' mode for the module.
  • That is, user can reserve a license from the time he/she first use some functionality from that specific module.
  • Select the modules and use the button.
  • Confirm the action using the button 'Apply'.

Load menu with license

Use this button to load Novapoint modules automatically when AutoCAD is started.

  • This options acts similar to 'Load menu only', but reserves the module's license instantly at AutoCAD start-up.
  • If license is not available at Novapoint start-up, warning message will pop up.
  • This option is the preferable mode for single-user node-locked licenses.
  • Select the modules and use the button.
  • Confirm the action using the button 'Apply'.

Releasing license

Release the reserved license for other users.

  • Unload the module in module loader or exit AutoCAD to release the license.

List of licensed modules

Sorting

By clicking the different column headers, one can sort the list in ascending/descending order.

Module name

States the name of the module in the local language.

  • Unlicensed modules are not shown in the list.
  • Using the button 'Options', one can change the appearance of the list by hiding the modules, which are not used at the moment.

Start-up

Start-up options indicate if the module loader should do any special action at AutoCAD start-up. One can set the following start-up modes for the modules using the respective buttons:

  1. No action (Default behaviour):
    • Does nothing at AutoCAD start-up.
    • This means that if user desires to use the module later, he/she needs to run this tool and load it.
    • Keep this option for all the modules, which may not be used, thus keeping the menu bar and the toolbar setup tidy.
  2. Load menu only: Loads the module's menu if there is one.
  3. Load menu with license: Loads the module when AutoCAD is started.

Status

The program represents the status of License as follows:

  • License is available. A license for the module is available, and you can load the module.
  • License is reserved to current user.
  • License is not available. All licenses for this module is reserved to other users.
Note: In case of network license, the license status reflects the situation upon dialog start-up. The situation might have changed while the module loader dialog is active, and this change will not be reflected in the modules status. Thus user might get a surprising error message indicating something else than the status in the list.

Event

The two possible events are 'Load' and 'Unload'. To alter events, use the respective buttons or select Load/Unload from shortcut menu. Events are executed when user clicks the button 'OK' or 'Apply'.

Version

Version number for the module is displayed. Represented like “XX.xx” where the first part represents the major release version and the latter the minor version number.

Options

Use this option to filter out the modules, which are not of use at this moment.

Note: License checking process might be slow when using a remote license server. A solution to speed up this would be to use the 'Options' functionality to remove the modules that are not used. The modules will then be skipped in the start up check.

This dialog box can be activated from the button 'Options' of the dialog box 'Novapoint Module Loader'. Use this dialog box for the following:

  • Enabling license borrowing when working with network floating licenses.
  • To filter out the modules, which are not of use at this moment.

All the modules, which are available with the current installation, will be listed in this dialog box. The modules that are selected in this dialog box will be listed in the dialog 'Novapoint Module Loader'.

  • Reducing the list in the dialog 'Novapoint Module Loader' will speedup the license checking process (specially in case of network license server).
  • Modules, which are reserved, cannot be filtered.
  • The filter list shows all modules including the unlicensed.
  • By default all modules will be shown in the dialog box 'Novapoint Module Loader', which means that license check will be carried for all the modules.

From the release version 16.10 onwards, until the dialog box 'Options' is activated, Novapoint will not check for the availability of the license for the modules. On network licenses this check may take some time. We will therefore recommend using the button 'Options' to set up the modules to borrow before borrowing the licenses. This way user will not have to wait unnecessary while the system tries to check the licenses on a server that is not available.

When borrowing a license follow these instructions:

  1. Borrow the license
  2. Disconnect the network cable
  3. Log the computer off the network and log on as local user (or restart the computer)

License borrowing will not work if user do not log off or restart the computer.

Borrowing

This setting will enable two functions in the dialog 'Novapoint Module Loader' as shown below:

{image} Borrow license: Selecting this function will prompt the user to set expiration date for the license borrowing period. The maximum period is limited to 30 days.
{image}
Pressing 'Apply' (or 'OK') will change the license status icon to indicate that the license has been borrowed.
{image}
{image} Return license: This function enables the user to return borrowed licenses to the network server prior to the expiration date (early return).
Note:

  • Single users (node-locked licenses) cannot utilize ìBorrowingî and should keep the borrowing option turned off.
  • When stopping a license or returning a license there is a linger-time in the system on 300 seconds. This means that the license will not be available to other users until after the linger-time expires.
