Bridge Project Settings

Before you start working with Novapoint Bridge, you must create a new Bridge database (= Bridge project) or choose an existing Bridge database.

You can do this in the Novapoint Bridge-Project Setup dialog shown below.

Creating New Bridge Project

Use the icon . Browse to the location where the bridge project file is to be created and name the bridge project file to create a new bridge project.

Open existing Bridge Project

Use the icon to 0pen an existing bridge project.

A dropdown list with the latest used Bridge databases is shown by pressing the down-arrow shown after the Bridge database name. You can select another Bridge database by choosing from this list. The active Bridge database is always shown.

It may be ;necessary to define different types of structures for the same Road Model (VIPS). For each structure type you should make a new Bridge database.

From this dialog you can also open the Novapoint Project Setup dialog to choose another terrain or road database. You open the Novapoint Project Setup dialog by pressing the ID button.

Key Sections

When you press Key Sections button the dialog box 'Key Section' will pop up, which lists all the key section in the selected Bridge Database.

ID

The icon activates the dialog 'Novapoint Project - ID' where the Road Model (VIPS), Database (Digital Terrain Model) and Project file are to be selected. For further details on the dialog 'Novapoint Project - ID', refer the help file of the menu 'Novapoint'.

Road lines

When you press the Road Lines button, the dialog box 'Road Lines for chosen VIPS Project' will pop up, which lists all the road lines for the actual Road Model (VIPS) together with first and last station number for the road. Only one road lines can be used as a reference line for each Road Model (VIPS). The is reference line usually the centreline of the road. The actual reference line is shown as the Main Alignment on the dialog box 'Novapoint Project - ID'.
