Novapoint Online Documentation

Introduction

Novapoint Noise is an AutoCAD-based application for analyzing and calculating road traffic noise and railroad noise. Novapoint Noise supports the following calculation methods:

  • Nordic Calculation Method for Road Traffic Noise. The method is described in manual 064, published by the Norwegian Road Authority & Norwegian department of Environment.
  • Nordic Calculation Method for Railway Traffic Noise. The method is described in TemaNord 1996:524, ISBN 92 9120 837 X, ISSN 0908-6692.
  • French Method XP S31-133. The method is described in ISSN 0335-3931, published by AFNOR (Association Française de Normalisation).

The noise calculations are done automatically based on given data from roads, traffic, calculation points, hard/soft areas, noise barriers, buildings and terrain surface. Terrain information is stored as a separate terrain model. The data is input using dialog boxes and maps on screen. The map is imported to AutoCAD from the Terrain Model using functionality in Novapoint Base. The map is also used when presenting the result.

You can order a number of reports from Novapoint Noise. In addition to this, noise contour lines may be calculated and noise level areas may be coloured.

General knowledge of AutoCAD & Novapoint is an advantage to use Novapoint Noise effectively.

Novapoint Noise is developed for the Norwegian Road Authority by Vianova Systems in cooperation with SINTEF Acoustics and SINTEF Road and Railwaytechnics.
