Stepwise Description
Novapoint Base
- Project ID: Enter the name of the terrain model to be used.
In the terrain model
- Compress the terrain model (see Compressing Terrain Models).
- Set active groups and feature codes to be active during collection of map (see Feature Codes, Groups, Levels).
- Check level of the groups and if possible validity distance and demarkation of area (see Height Error Check).
- Draw the map from the terrain model, verify heights (see Height Error Check).
- Examine building data lying in the terrain model, are feature codes correct? (see Preparing of buildings).
- Prepare roads in the terrain model, road edge must be defined (see Preparing of roads in the terrain model).
In Novapoint Noise
- Read map to AutoCAD, buildings are to be read in 3D (see Draw map from terrain model).
- Set to active groups and feature codes which are to be active during calculation (see Feature Codes, Groups, Levels).
- Enter roads in Novapoint Noise and state traffic data to each road (see Traffic Data).
- Enter buildings which might produce shielding effect for any of the calculation points (see Dialog box).
- Enter calculation points (see Dialog box).
- Enter hard ground regions (see Dialog box). The road is automatically reckoned as hard ground.
- Define alternatives. There should be a review of all input data before calculation starts to check that all input included is set to active and else as it is supposed to be (see Calculation).
- Run calculation. Terrain profile may be saved for reuse (saves time) if the terrain model is not to be changed before the next calculation and calculation of reflection is disabled. All details have to be saved if a detailed report of the calculation result is desired. Calculation result and input data are saved together with the alternative (see Calculation).
- Use the display function to show the resultat on the map on the screen.
- Print the resultat to file or to screen. File may be transferred to spreadsheet (see Reports).
- Input data may be changed and a new alternative created. Terrain profile may be reused if there hasn't been any changes in the terrain model.
