OnSite Application Configuration

This dialog box is used to define the settings for the application. The user must specify the location of the configuration files for the OnSite tool. These include the following:

  • Path where predefined symbols MARKINFO and POSINFO are stored. This is usually in the program installation folder\blocks
Note: If the application is started and the current drawing does not yet contain the predefined symbols, they will automatically get inserted. If they can not be found in the predefined path, the user will get a warning, so he can modify the path accordingly
  • File that contains the information for the 6 configurable buttons
  • File that contains the definition for the linear features
  • File that contains the definition for the punctual features
  • File that contains the definition for the textual information
  • File that contains the definition for the possible constructions
  • File where log of data is to be written (TBD)

- The user can also set the maximum precision tolerance in cm (based on Leica and Trimble information sent in NMEA string). If the current GPS position violates this value, the user will get informed and it's up to him to decide whether the point should get created.

- There is also a setting that allows the user to decide, whether points should get created in 2D or in 3D. Linear elements are always drawn 2D.

- There is also an option where the user can decide to attach attribute data (XDATA) to observed points. If available the following information will be added to the point features:

  • Date
  • Measured height coming from GPS
  • Precision when capturing this point information

- Furthermore, the user can specify the zoom scale around the current position. That way the user can make sure that enough information around the current point is visible. A good value is 12m

- The user can decide whether the date should be used when the tool needs to create new layers. That way it is easy to know when a specific item has been measured, or when it has been deleted.

- The user can also define a possible prefix and or suffix for new layers that need to be created and layers that will contain the 'erased' information

- The user can also set a prefix and or suffix to be used when creating housenumber information.
