Novapoint OnSite is a tool that runs on top of AutoCAD, AutoCAD Map or Civil 3D. It is used in the field and installed on a ruggedized laptop - dedicated for outdoor use. Using a live connection with Trimble, Leica or any other NMEA capable GPS (often using bluetooth, since this is the most comfortable way), your AutoCAD drawing is transformed into a dynamic map, that navigates to the current position

It can be used for simple navigation purposes, where the map follows the user, but it can equally be used in the field to create survey data directly in the drawing by grabbing coordinates from the GPS receiver.

Furthermore several constructions are provided to make special cases easy to measure:

• calculate mean value between 2 observed coordinates

This tool can also be used to communicate with Total Stations.

• Leica totalstations are supported using the GSI protocol that is sent to the serial port instead of storing it on the memory card
• Trimble totalstations are supported, through their specific NMEA protocol and this also requires TSM
