Novapoint Online Documentation

Workflow

Mainly the following workflow can be used to create and calculate a Novapoint Survey project:

  1. Start a new project : from scratch by selecting new from the menu or by choosing a specific import format from the import menu
  2. Depending on the input format, the choosen fieldbook(s) are analyzed and the project explorer is filled with the available information. If angles and distances were observed, the project explorer will contain one or more networks that can be viewed and where the user can navigate from setup to setup. For each setup, the backsights, foresights and observations versus detail points are available. Under the stations and points branch, all stations and observed points will be available. If angles and distances were observed, the network needs to be computed before points will get their coordinates. If the input file was observed using coordinates, they will be available directly.
  3. If the fieldbook(s) contain angles/distances, the user has options to adjust the network. Novapoint Survey has integrated least squares adjustment, or the user can opt to export the observation data to Move3. Once the results have been calculated in Move3, the adjusted coordinates can be reimported and used to calculate the detail points
  4. The points are stringed together based on the used feature code in the field, or act as individual points. These geometries can be found under the feature branch, where common feature codes are grouped together.
  5. Save the project in its native format (XML or XMB) to have it drawn within AutoCAD environment. Alternativly export the project to some other format from the export menu in order to use the data in other environments. Most common formats are available
