Construction

All functions for designing, detailing, respective parameters, standards, etc., are controlled from this dialog box. This dialog box is a floating window and lies above the AutoCAD working drawing file. Practically this means that one can perform all AutoCAD functions even if the dialog box 'Novapoint WS - Construction' is open. All functions are having drop down menu available in the dialog box.

All the information about what has been designed is listed in the table of the user interface 'Novapoint WS - Construction'.

In the left pane of the dialog box, all the objects, elements, such as, trenches, pipes, nodes, manholes/connections, etc., are displayed in a tree structure. This kind of display makes it easy to trace the connections such as pipe-manhole, pipe-node, manhole-node, and cross-section of a trench, etc. It is possible to have several trenches in a project and also one may move sections from one trench to other.

The right pane of the dialog box, details of the element/object highlighted (selected) in the left pane will be displayed, and it is possible to change material, dimension, etc. The details (materials, dimensions, pressure, etc.) listed are assigned/designed details. Only the details (pipes, manholes, connections, materials, dimensions, pressures, etc.) that are registered (refer 'Start Configuration') can be used.

Drop down menu

The main menu of Novapoint WS when we select Water and Sewer from the menu bar on top of the screen.

Notice that for all menus, > (filled right arrow) behind it means that the selection brings up a sub menu. If there are … (three dots) behind a menu selection, means that a dialogue box will appear.

The function of the different selections are described under Menu. For the selections concerning object type, a sub menu will pop up. These are divided in two or three, in the upper part we find general selections for the object type, while the lower part(s) contain(s) relevant selections for one or more definite objects.

We recommend to fresh users of the Novapoint Water & Sewer that they start by using the drop down menu and the dialogue boxes, since the menu gives a good overview of the program structure. The menu is structured in a way that makes it natural to start on top and work one's way downwards.

Short cut menu

All elements of the WS project can be edited using short cut menus. Put the crosshair on the object in question and press the right mouse button, and a menu will appear. In this menu, you may perform editing functions for the very object, trench sections or the entire trench.
